Original language description
It is a control unit of pneumatic system. It allows the recuperation of the pressure. This working sample is a controller that is built on the Arduino micro development board. The unit provides pressure control in two pneumatic elements simultaneously. It is applicable for a variable stiffness seat cushion with two zones or for a variable stiffness orthopaedic mattress with two zones. When adjusting the pressure in each zone, it reduces the amount of pressurised air required by not venting the air out to the atmosphere when the pressure is reduced, but using it to increase the pressure in the adjacent zone if necessary.

Technical parameters
The core of the controller is an Arduino Micro, which is equipped with terminals for connecting controls, sensors and pneumatic valves. The pressures in both zones are set using buttons or potentiometers. The buttons are connected to digital inputs D5-D8. The potentiometers are connected to analog inputs A0 and A1. The pressure sensors are analog 0-5V in the range -100-100kPa and they are connected to analog inputs A2 and A3. The valves are two-state connected via TLP250 optical isolators.
