The paper introduces the all-purpose simple single-phase chopper built-up as development kit from the rectifier bridge and the MOSFET power transistor. This chopper is controlled by the PWM with variable frequency of modulation. The device was designed for experimental study of power factor correction and drive of induction loads (motors, magnetic ballasts and etc.) The paper shows complete design including full circuit diagram and experiences of application.
