Optimizing the remediation of the subsurface environment in the Straz deposit

  • Original language description

The remediation of subsurface environment in the Stráž deposit after the uranium mining is realized by consecutive pumping of contaminated groundwater. The pumped water is treated in a conventional plant. he simulation model presents information about the changes of contamination in the underground during remediation. One subject of the optimization model is to identify sites for pumping and injection wells. Pumped groundwater must meet the capacity of technological devices and technological demands. The injection has to prevent large hydraulic depression which would make further pumping impossible.
