    FVM Model of Advection-Diffusion Mass Transport with Respect to Numerical Diffusion

    In the contribution, the FVM model of advection-diffusion mass transport is presented. The model was derived and implemented as a part of the wider model of processes inside an internal combustion engine. In the paper, the overall model is briefly introduced, the major part is devoted to presentation of the FVM model of advection-diffusion mass transport and our approach to correction of numerical diffusion. The explicit upwind scheme is used, therefore the stability condition should be set. It was derived as confined to the case of incompressible flow with a correction for nonlinear compressible one. It restricts the time step by the second order of spatial discretization parameter. The upwind method applied to the advection term leads to numerical diffusion. Its reduction is proposed and tested on simple problems by comparison with their analytic solutions.
