Modelling of movement of an elastic shutter
Original language description
We deal with a shutter constructed as a dielectric plate with thin metal layers from both sides. The upper layer is unstuck and rolled. Connecting voltage to both layers (electrodes), the shutter closes as the upper layer is attracted to the plane by electrostatic force. In the paper, we describe a method for numerical determination of the shutter movement -- a position and shape of the rolled layer depending on time. The movement is expressed from energy balance of elastic, electrostatic and kinetic energy, assuming a specific a-priori given development of the shutter shape. The results are used for analysis of parameters' influence (dimensions and material properties) on the shutter operation.
