Hybrid systems in control-oriented power plant modelling
Original language description
Applications of hybrid systems theory to modelling and control of power plants has been quite limited. It is the purpose of this paper to outline some prospective applications of hybrid systems in the field of control-oriented modelling of fossil fuelledpower plants. The paper describes two important power plant subsystems: reheater and drum boiler. It shows that hybrid phenomena and nonlinearities that are present in these subsystems can well be captured by hybrid piecewise affine models. These modelscan then be used as a starting point for the design of hybrid model predictive controllers.
