Simulation experiments with robust controllers in the cascade control structure
Original language description
The standard algorithm to control output steam temperature in steam generators is based on cascade structure with PI or PID controllers. This structure is useful, but there can stay problems with oscillation on output temperatures. We want to present analternative way to finding good controllers parameters in this paper. Our approach is based on the same structure, but instead of standard PID controllers we try to use the combination of the P controller with the robust H_inf controller. The main advantage of the cascade structure stay in the small loop with P/PI controller, but the improvement of the global output behavior is achieved with the robust controller in the big loop. We also present design of the robust controller in the paper. One part ofthe paper is targeted to basics of a nonlinear simulation model construction, which is essential to the developing and verification of control algorithms.
