This paper is concerned with monitoring of effect of changes in certain parameters on the operation of functional model of the tangential weft pick. Various weft materials have been tested whether they are suitable for tangential picking, with regard totheir possible mechanical damage ? of the initial section of the weft in particular ? at varied picking velocities. Furthermore, there have been monitored the variances between calculated and measured lengths of the picked weft at varied picking rates, and their reasons have been looked for. For this purpose, there has been carried out a number of measurings of the movement of the pressing pulley at varied r. p.m. and with varied pressure parameters.
