The PUBLIC SPACE ACTIVATION workshop led by Zdeněka Němcová Zedníčková and Makoto Tanida from Meijo University Nagoya, which trained constructive and programmatic thinking through practical urban design and place-making with the help of consultations by AI Proto-Agents of Virtual Futurologists A°D°A, took place in Kutná Hora. Participants prepared for their fieldwork in Kutná Hora and deepened their understanding of local needs through the creation phase and consultations by AI Proto-Agents of Virtual Futurologists A°D°A. Students created specialized AI Proto-Agents specifically for this event to consult on how to engage with local people and tourists in public space through sharing Japanese Matcha tea while simultaneously designing and creating street furniture. The workshop highlighted how practical interventions: a “hack” focused on rethinking urban infrastructure and a “picnic” focused on designing outdoor social spaces can be enhanced by incorporating AI consultants into the traditional workflow of designers.
