Simple graphical system for determination of actual yarn geometry of textile composites.

Result description

The paper deals with the approximation of geometric shape of yarn fibres in textile reinforced composites. Because of the yarn axis quasi-periodicity, the yarn axis is approximated by the finite Fourier series. Its coefficients are obtained by the discrete Fourier transform of samples of yarn geometrical axis. Partially automated computer graphic system was used for the approximation. The method is described and some typical results are shown.
