Original language description
The aim of the article is to map and compare the new directions of development of economic theories from the mid-20th century up to the present, especially those reflecting the influence of globalization and integration processes. Interactions and relations among the phenomena of globalization, internationalization, transnationalization, and interdependence are qualified and defined . The implications of the conclusions for solving problems of external and internal balance of an economy on both theoretical and application levels are analyzed.The analysis has been focused on the comparison of economic areas of European Union and Japan, an economic area developed as a result of economic integration and an area dependent solely on the phenomenon of globalization.
