Exploring Information and Communication Management in Czech Hospitals
Original language description
This article yields results of qualitative research on information systems management and technologies in Czech hospitals. The research was supported by Brazil GESITI/HOSPITALS Project. Three case studies were conducted to analyse information systems management and technologies. Research was realized during one year (2012) by the structure questionnaire and interviews with ICT (Information and communication technology) managers, human resource officers, R&D (Research and Design) managers and other management staff. The results confirm increasing utilization of information and communication technology in health care sector especially in infrastructure, security and staff education. This is related to increasing demand of financial resources which is thebiggest problem in all Czech hospitals. The increasing financial needs are in conflict with political opinion and effort to maintain health care free of charge especially in election period.
