Original language description
This paper aims to introduce general principals of local economic development in the face of negative repercussions of globalization. Proposal of possible strategies promoting local economic development follows such that might help to reinforce resilience and self-reliance of local economies and/or small municipalities. Special attention is paid to a local multiplier as a useful indicator of a rate of localization and local currency systems, especially a local exchange trading system as a way how to reinforce self-reliance of municipalities.
