A Software Based Transition from the Use Case Model into BORM Using the UCBTA PROJECTS VBA Tool

  • Original language description

Requirement Analysis is a crucial task performed during the early stages of the information system development process. A popular modelling tool is the UML Use Case method. However, the Use Case approach is incomplete in terms of workflow representation.Consequently, it should be inevitably supported by a business process workflow model. One excellent tool, comprehensible even by end users who lack IT skills, regarding the business process workflow, is the BORM Method. BORM stands for Business Object Relation Modelling. The current paper introduces a VBA software application which can automatically transform Use Cases into the BORM approach, in order to cover the gap of workflow absence in the Use Case approach. The tool is entitled UCBTA_PROJECTS. UCBTA stands for Use Case to BORM Transformation Algorithm, which is a theoretical model introduced by the author in previous articles. The UCBTA approach ensures the efficient and complete transition from the Use Case method into BORM thro
