Optimization of the Transportation Plan with a Multicriterial Programming Method
Original language description
Environmental policy and corporate social responsibility have becomevery important criteria in considering of performance of the enterprises.Transportation is the second largest source of greenhouse gas emissions, inparticular CO2 and N2O, in the EU, and road transport is so far the largest emissionsource within the transport sector. This article deals with the of best route choicedecisions on vehicle energy consumption and emission rates for different vehicletypes using multicriterial linear programming method. The purpose was to find theoptimal transportation plan so as to simultaneously minimize the fuel consumptionand the total CO2 emission. The ecologic-economical model is tested on the real dataof the selected logistical enterprise. The paper also presents general applicability ofthe multicriterial model. From the model results it cannot be implied that the amountof emissions produced was directly proportional to fuel consumption, rather thecontrary.
