Original language description
Comparing insurance markets with each other is not given sufficient attention, the authors are mainly focused on one monitored country. The paper aims to evaluate the results of a comparative analysis of the development of the Slovak and Czech insurance markets over the past five years, where we monitor the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The given objective of the work will be fulfilled using scientific methods: by calculating and subsequently comparing fundamental indicators of insurance markets, including market concentration, development of gross premiums in life and non-life insurance, insurance penetration and insurance density. The analysis will be based on secondary data from Slovak and Czech insurance associations, Slovak and Czech statistical offices, national banks of the monitored countries and ministries of finance. The statistical software Statgraphics Centurion XVIII will also be used for processing.
