Production and properties of nanofibres
Original language description
A new, industrial scale production method based on electrospinning polymer solutions has been developed. Several methods to produce submicron polymeric fibers have been described. The one of them - electrospinning is mostly used to produce fibers of 5There are two main problems limiting industrial-scale production of nanofibers: At first: low production rate ranging from 0.01 to 0.2 gramms per die and hour. At second: use of toxic solvents. The new method consists in electrospinning polymer solution from a large surface without extrusion through spinning die. The fiber forming mechanism is being studied. The forming process and fiber properties depend on the type of polymer, properties of polymer solution as well as the process parameters. A research work on variety of end-uses has been prepared, namely filtration, medical applications, catalysis, thermal- and sound insulations, composites etc.
