Influence of Cotton Fiber Properties on Yarn Strength
Original language description
The application of statistical analysis for prediction of yarn strength from cotton fibers data obtained by HVI is presented. The graphically oriented method of prediction type models building is described. This method is based on the special projectionenabling the investigation of partial dependence of response on the selected exploratory variable (partial regression graphs). For selection of predictive model the predicted correlation coefficient PR is proposed This strategy is applied for special setof published cotton fiber data. Their analysis shows that proposed approach leads to the model with better predictability and simpler structure in comparison with classical regression approach.
