This paper deals with important property of yarn mass irregularity. There is observed how non-periodical mass irregularity of longitudinal fibrous semi-product projects itself into mass irregularity of yarn.For this study variance ?length curves (LVC) ofworsted rovings as well as LVC of cotton drawn slivers and consequently LVC of yarns manufactured from these semi-products were used. There was the assumption established: the mass variability ofsemi-product(expressed by the variance-length curve of thesemi-product) is kept in the yarn but due to draft ratio D in the spinning machine this irregularity shows itself on the yarn cut lengths D-times increased. On the basis of this assumptionthe ?fictive? variance-length curve of yarn was created. This fictive curve was compared with the real LVC of yarn.

Příspěvek je věnován důležité vlastnosti příze - hmotné nestejnoměrnosti. Je sledováno, jak se neperiodická hmotná nestejnoměrnost délkového vlákenného poloproduktu projevuje v nestejnoměrnosti příze. Pro tuto studii byly vybrány délkové variační křivkybavlnářských posukovaných pramenů a následně přízí vyrobených ze zmíněných poloproduktů. Byl zaveden předpoklad, že variabilita hmotnosti poloproduktu na obecné délce úseku (vyjádřená délkovou variační křivkou poloproduktu) se projeví v přízi,ale na délceúseku zvětšené vlivem průtahu na dopřádacím stroji. Na základě tohoto předpokladu byly sestrojeny "fiktivní" délková variační křivky přízí a porovnávány s křivkami reálnými.
