    In this paper, appearances of woven fabrics simulated by the instrument Uster Tester IV-SX on the base of results from yarn mass irregularity measurements are evaluated subjectively as well as objectively ? by means of external area variation curve and semivariograms. It is observed the curves behaviour in dependence on yarn mass irregularity. Obtained results are confronted with subjective evaluation results. The utilization of area variation curve and semivariograms for yarn taper board simulation isdiscussed.
