    Influence of fabric geometry on woven fabric thickness

  • Original language description

    Fabric properties are important in each industry domain. The expression of the fabric geometry and its behaviour from the final properties viewpoint we can pursue on the basis of the various mathematical descriptions as well as we can use different experimental methods. Final fabric structure determines and influence some woven fabric properties, for example: fabric thickness, area covering, rubbing (fastness), pilling, air-permeability, tensile strength, breaking elongation etc. Fabric thickness is depended at the fabric weave as well at the thread?s position in the binding repeat [2]. If we have same yarn parameters (yarn count, twist, yarn under fill, etc.) higher derived weaves with long float have bigger fabric thickness than plain weave with small float.
