Crimp of the Yarn in Weft Knitted Fabric
Original language description
In weft knitted fabric forming process used yarn, originally straight, achieves crimped shape. It results in shortening the fabric width in comparison with yarn length before knitting. The crimp as a numeric value describes relation between these geometrical parameters. Measuring and calculation of the crimp is usual for weaves but no so frequent for knits. This contribution proposes and verifies a novel method of knitted fabric crimp measuring.
