This work is a comparative study of some dynamic properties of plain, slub, elastomeric, and elastomeric slub yarns. Different type of fibers such as 100% cotton, 50%cotton/50% viscose and 50%cotton/50% polyester were used. It was found out that the elastomeric and slub yarns have different behaviour than plain yarn. Generally the strength of slub yarns are higher that the plain ones. The initial modulus of yarns containing elastane has less modulus than plain ones. The sonic modulus behaves somehow different that the mechanical modulus. The modulus of slub yarns are slightly less sonic modulus in opposite to the mechanical modulus. As the mechanical modulus is higher, the sonic modulus is lesser. This may be due to the slubs which may disturb the sound waves.
