COMFORT PROPERTIES OF TEXTILE MATERIALS FROM GRAVIMETRIC METHOD

  • Original language description

Comfort properties of cotton and PP fabrics was measured by two types of gravimetric method and compared with skin-model. Innovative gravimetric method was used and discussed with theory and accuracy of measurement. Cotton, polypropylene and blended cotton-polypropylene woven fabrics, three of the most common fabrics, are used in general life. Water vapor permeability carries the vital importance for comfort feeling and human health. People want their clothes dry and also breathable. There are a varietyof test methods in use to measure the ability of fabrics to transport water vapor. We use Permetest Test Machine to provide the intended climate conditions. In this paper you can see the water vapor permeability results of the fabrics, which contain three different materials, measured with two different methods; direct method and inverted method. Graphs of the measurements for materials are also prepared. According to these results, the highest permeability value which measured by direc
