Thermal comfort properties of standard and new denim fabrics in wet state
Original language description
Newly developed woven "denim" fabrics comprise several types of polypropylene weft yarns. In the study, thermal resistance, thermal conductivity, thermal absorbtivity and water vapour resistance of these new fabrics, in dry and wet state, measured by means of the fast working non.destructive ALAMBETA and PERMETEST are presented. It was found, that denims consisting of certain polypropylene yarns exhibit thermal resistance up to 2 times higher then similar fabrics made of 100% cotton. Also thermal contact feeling of these fabrics in wet state is quite dry.
