    GROWTH OF CARBON NANOTUBES DIRECTLY ON METAL WIRES BY THERMAL CVD

  • Original language description

    A simple method of growing carbon nanotubes directly on metal wires without chemical pre-treatment is reported. Natural gas was used as a carbon source. Optimal conditions for production of long multiwalled carbon nanotubes on the wires surface were found. The diameter of these multiwalled nanotubes is bellow one hundred nanometers. SEM figures show the carbon nanotube growing over distance smaller than 200 nm between wires. The effect of wires chemical etching and the synthesis conditions onto final carbon nanostructures morphology is described too. There was used Raman spectroscopy for study of produced nanostructures.
