Thermal Comfort of Cotton Denim Fabric in wet state
Original language description
The prediction of the thermal resistivity or thermal conductivity of fibrous structures is important for design purposes of fabrics and prediction of their thermal comfort. This study aim is development of a multiphase model for the prediction of thermalresistance of cotton type textile fabrics under wet conditions. Thermal resistance is tested with the Alambeta device at various moisture percentages. Simulation type model is developed based on the use of mixture rule combinations of the wet fiber thermal conductivity and air embeds in fabric pores thermal conductivity. This model has a high prediction capability and describes the measured values very precisely. The experimental results show that there is a systematic decrease in thermal resistance with the increase of moisture content. The drastic drop of thermal resistance occurs at initial stage and thereafter, less change in thermal resistance has been observed.
