Effect of ambient temperature and humidity on sewing needle temperature
Original language description
In this article sewing needle heat is measured by the attached thermocouple method which is inserted inside the groove of sewing needle to analyze the impact of ambient factors like room humidity and temperature on the heating of sewing needle. The Lockstitch machine (Brother, DD7100-905) is run without sewing thread and with polyester-polyester core spun(80Tex) thread at its maximum speed of 4700RPM with stitch length of 14 SPI for a maximum of 60 seconds.2/1 twill 100%cotton denim fabric with 257GSMwith two layers were used and it was observed that with the increase of relative humidity there is insignificant difference in sewing needle temperature. Whereas the needle temperature rises with the increase of ambient temperature. Needle temperature increases linearly with the increase of sewing speed whereas the tensile strength of thread has negative strong linear relation with the needle temperature and sewing speed. At sewing floor the ambient temperature must be set carefully to k
