Evaluation of change in colour of denim fabric after various industrial washing processes with different fibre composition
Original language description
In this report traditional denim made by using 100% cotton and novel denim made by using cotton in warp and spun PP in the weft were treated in eleven different ways on industrial garment washing machines with the help of various textile auxiliaries andpumice. There is an obvious change in colour of denim, which is measured by using Spectrophotometer. Reflectance was taken as a variable to observe the intensity of change. Colour difference was measured by using the CIELab colour difference formula 1976.Colour space coordinates (L*, a*, b*) and colour difference ?E were calculated between the untreated denim and treated denim.
