Original language description
This work deals with objective method for fabric pilling evaluation using tools of image processing and spatial data analysis. Surface of the samples with pills is 3D reconstructed by gradient field method. Basic element for using of the method is shadows of the pills created during transversal illumination of the samples from 4 sides. The method is capable to created 3D surface just from set of 4 sample images. Consequently, pills are detected with use of image processing tools in MatLab software. Quantitative and qualitative evaluation of pilling is possible after pills detection. Quantitative evaluation of pilling means determination of pill characteristics for purpose of automatic generation of pilling grade. Qualitative evaluation of pilling serves for definition of pills distribution based on spatial data analysis tools in R software.
