THE INFLUENCE OF INORGANIC REINFORCEMENT ON THE MECHANICAL BEHAVIOUR OF COMPOSITES

  • Original language description

Mechanical properties depend not only on the properties of the individual components of the composite, but in particular on their interaction. The stability of the mechanical properties of the composite is due to the strong connection of fibers with thematrix, when the link is violated it leads to their degradation. The experiment deals with mechanical reinforcement of carbon, basalt and glass fibers with a matrix. In this experiment carbon, glass and basalt fibers in the form of rovings were used. Thecomposite should be used as a substitute for heavy steel structures in the automotive industry. The task is to find the optimal structure of the reinforcement of the composite material in order to achieve the desired mechanical properties. For the use of fibers in practice it is important to know what type of reinforcement to choose in order to get the best mechanical properties in conjunction with the matrix. During production, each thread goes through the process of coating (sizing).
