AN EFFECTIVE PILLS SEGMENTATION ON PATTERNED FABRICS
Original language description
This paper describes a process of acquisition of a 3D fabric surface and pills segmentation on patterned fabrics. For purpose of a 3D fabric surface reconstruction, a gradient field method was used. The 3D fabric surface is reconstructed from a set of 4sample images using a special algorithm in MatLab software. Due to created pill shadows and gradient images estimated by subtracting of the images in relevant direction, an influence of a fabric pattern on the pills segmentation is eliminated. Therefore, the pills segmentation in 3D fabric surfaces is possible to carry out using simple image analysis techniques.
