"The development of female sizing system has its root in the anthropometric study of females whose aim is to obtain correct body measurements for a good fit of a garment to the wearers. Female body builds and sizes vary by nationality, age, and body type. The commonly used female anthropometric factors are bust girth, waist girth and hip girth. This current research has analysed the survey data of body measurements of women of Czech Republic and Thailand using a statistical program to investigate the relationships between bust girth, waist girth and hip girth. In addition, comparisons have been made between Thai and Czech female body measurements and major international standards of garment sizing systems. The standard garment sizing systems employed in this research encompass those of Europe, the US and Asia. The comparison results would provide useful insights to the ready-to-wear garment industry and guidelines for manufacturers and consumers.
