This chapter deals with the thermo-physiological comfort aspects of denim garments. It first relates the comfort parameters to the specifications, structure and washing processes of conventional denim. Further, it talks about the development of high comfort functional denim using blended yarns. Parameters such as moisture transport, thermal parameters, thermo-physiological comfort, porosity, washing and coating are discussed in relation to the structure of the functional denim. Finally, testing methodsand future trends in the thermo-physiological comfort of denim are outlined.
