    Laser anemometry based measurement of electric wind generated by AC power source

  • Original language description

    We carried out several experiments regarding different measurements of electric wind driven by the AC power source. Results corresponded with our visual observation of the AC electrospinning process and conclusions based on it. Using Laser anemometry we show different air velocities depending on different setups. It can be seen that increasing the voltage or the frequency leads to a higher velocity of air above the electrode. In the other experiment we show that in the case of the three electrodes of the same kind, air velocity is not the same and it differs above each electrode. This measurement was backed up by our UV camera recordings, which show that the middle electrode produces the weakest UV light emission and corona discharge. We can conclude that electric intensity in this area is lower than in the areas on the sides. This is probably the main reason behind our experimental problems with AC electrospinning from more than one electrode.
