EVALUATION OF COLOR SAMPLES AT MESOPIC LUMINANCE LEVELS

  • Original language description

This paper deals with the evaluation of color samples on photopic and mesopic luminance levels. With decreasing luminance level there is shifted the spectral sensitivity to shorter wavelengths. The area of this shift is called as mesopic or mesopic vision. Description of change of the spectral sensitivity of the human eye at change of luminance levels has been dealt J. E. Purkinje, according to which is called the shift of spectral sensitivity of the human eye Purkinje shift. In the last years they dealthis area in the laboratory MOVE (Mesopic Optimization of Visual Efficiency) and LRC (Lighting Research Center). The experiment was carried out for evaluation of influence of decreasing luminance levels on the discrimination of samples with small colordifference (?E=1 and ?E=5). For the evaluation of the observers was chosen set of 96 color square samples with known color differences. Obtained values of visual deviations (?V) were compared by using characteristic STRESS with equations
