Investigation on Thermal Insulation Properties of Advanced Composite Nonwoven Materials
Original language description
The thermal insulation property of textile materials plays a significant role in material engineering of protective clothing. Thermal-insulation properties are very important from the point of view of thermal comfort of the clothing user as well as the protective efficiency against low or high temperature. In present work, the thermal-insulation properties of advanced composite nonwoven materials are studied. The two different composite nonwovens were developed from three and four respective layers of webs/membranes using STRUTO vertical lapper technology patented at Technical University of Liberec, Czech Republic. The single and double layers of spun bond-melt blown-spun bond (SMS) web structures of polyamide nanofibres were incorporated between two spun bond polypropylene webs. In subsequent stage, the thermal insulation properties based on thermal conductivity and thermal resistance were evaluated from Thermal Manikin and Alambeta techniques available at Lodz Polytechnique, Poland.
