    THE DETECTION OF DYED COTTON FABRIC BY RED LASER POINTER

  • Original language description

    The aim was the suggestion of dyed cotton velvet fabric that enables to absorb laser beam in the range of visible light at 650 nm wavelength. The absorbency of vat, direct and reactive dye solution was firstly measured using UV-VIS spectrophotometer. Reactive dye can highly absorb the light at 650 nm. This reactive dye (C.I. Reactive blue 21) was applied on cotton velvet fabric to obtain various shades of dyeing. Remission curves of dyed samples were measured by spectrophotometer. There was a designed and experimentally verified model that relates remission properties and detection of laser spot.
