Waterproof breathable layered fabrics allow water vapor passing through, but resist liquid water topass. This ability of the fabrics to protect rain and snow water while allowing sweat vapor to evaporatefrom inside to outside atmosphere, leads them to be used as outdoor sportswear or protectiveclothing. On the other hand, thermal properties of these fabrics, i.e., thermal conductivity or thermalresistance should also be maintained properly for the comfort of wearers. This paper presents a studythat aims to analyze the hydrostatic resistance and thermal properties of waterproof breathable fabricsconsidering their water vapor permeability as well. For this purpose, four different types of layeredfabrics were used in the experiment. The effect of material composition and layered structure of fabricson the mentioned properties has been analyzed. It has been found a significant influence of structureand construction of fabrics on their waterproof and thermal properties from the test results.
