EFFECT OF BASIC WEAVING STRUCTURES ON A FABRIC THERMAL COMFORT
Original language description
In this paper, the effect of different basic weaving structures on thermal comfort was studied. Thermal conductivity and thermal absorptivity in dry and wet state of all fabric samples were determined using Alambeta instrument. Six woven samples were studied by varying the weaving structures (plain, Twill 3/1 and Turkish Sateen), the weft composition and count number. The Results showed that the weaving structure and yarn composition are closely related to the thermal properties; conductivity and absorptivity. Plain weaving structure have lower thermal conductivity and fabrics made from PET offer cooler feeling when in contact with the skin.
