Tensile strenght of an absorbable suture material
Original language description
Suturing of soft tissues belongs to a daily routine in clinical practice. The stable suture is one of basic requirement for successful healing of wound. There are some papers dealing with knot security and their influence on the whole suture strength. Significant differences were found in knot security and tensile failure load among non-absorbable suture types. The aim of this poster is to show, how the number of knots and type of the material influence the strength of the absorbable suture.
