Yarn deformation in multifilament single layer woven structures using Fourier series

  • Original language description

Fourier approximation can be used to analyse the spectrum and deformation in glass woven structures. It is possible to compare the theoretical shape of a binding wave with the real shape by analysing its individual coordinates. Each of the binding waves obtained by Fourier series has its spectral characteristic which evaluates the course of the binding wave. The theoretical spectral characteristics can by compared with the experimental characteristics. It is also concluded that as the weft density is increasing in woven fabrics, the spacing between weft threads is reducing, resulting increase in deformation in longitudinal section from (G1) to (G3), and decrease in transverse cross-section from (G1) to (G3) due to balance of crimp. The Fourier approximation of binding wave gives us the information of whole binding wave in a repeat by describing its geometry and spectral characteristics. It is very useful tool to analyse the deformation of single layer glass woven structures which has been used extensively in medical applications.
