Development of multifunctional polyester fabric functionalized with TiO2 nanoparticles
Original language description
This study was focused to deal with the development of multifunctional polyester fabric by in-situ deposition of TiO2 nanoparticles on polyester fabric by using hydrothermal method. The morphology of the particles has been studied by using SEM. The chemical composition of nanoparticles was determined using energy dispersive spectroscopy. The study of UV protection, photocatalytic solution discoloration and moisture management of fabric showed that it had excellent functional properties. To study the superhydrophobicity, TiO2 coated fabrics were modified with octadecyltrimethoxysilane (OTMS). The superhydrophobicity was characterized by measuring the water contact angle.
