Metal Coated Multifunctional Fabrics
Original language description
This book chapter is focused on development of stretchable electrically conductive, multifunctional and durable fabrics by in-situ deposition of silver and copper particles. The successful application of silver and copper particles explained their potential applications in field of smart textiles. In addition, the morphology of coated fabrics and particles was studied from SEM observations. The utility of conductive fabrics was analyzed for electromagnetic shielding ability over frequency range of 30 MHz to 1.5 GHz by coaxial transmission line method. The EMI shielding was found to increase due to dense, uniform and percolated network of conductive particles on the surface.
