Multilayer assembly for protection against laser light
Original language description
The influence of multilayer assembly on protection against infrared laser light was investigated. Multilayer assembly was exposed to a pulsed laser device, Marcatex 150 Flexi, with wavelength of 10.6 μm. Marking Speed [bits.ms ] is the influenced parameter of laser irradiation. It presents the speed of burning. Multilayer assembly was consisted of three layers of textile materials. The first layer was top layer made of aramid, glass or Basalt fabric. The second layer is middle layer made of wool fabric. The third layer is bottom layer made of cotton fabric. Temperature of multilayer assembly was measured on the top and bottom layer of sample by contactless thermometer. Multilayer assembly was analysed by scanning electron microscopy before and after laser irradiation. The temperature of the bottom layer of multilayer assembly consist of aramid-wool-cotton was 74 °C at marking speed of 40 bits.ms . It is the lowest temperature. It can be concluded that the multilayer assembly containing aramid-wool-cotton provided the best protection against laser irradiation.
