Investigation of characteristics of Ti-B-C-N coatings.
Original language description
: A series of Ti-B-C-N thin films were deposited on high-speed steel (HSS) substrates by Plasma Assisted Chemical Vapour Deposition (PACVD) method using a gaseous mixture of TiCl4, BC13, CH4, N2, Ar and H2. The aim of the present work was to investigatethe influence of the composition of the deposited coatings on their properties. The nanohardness/elastic modulus, adhesion and tribological properties of the Ti-B-C-// coatings were investigated. The coatings selected for detailed analysis had a total thickness of 2 urn. These coatings are very promising for drilling, cutting and pressing tools.
