TUL made a contractual research of nZVI application in PRB for ARCADIS company. Basic was to conduct a column experiment to assess efficiency of two types of zero-valent iron(ZVI) for treatment of groundwater contaminated by chlorinated hydrocarbons (CHC) and hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)). Experimental research part of the task including laboratory analyses and expertise part evaluation of the results for possible application. Special technique was developer for the experiments in column. It is understood that outcomes of the task will be used for design of the Permeable Reactive Barrier (PRB) for on-site treatment of contaminated groundwater. The developer technique will be used for evaluation of similar sites.
