Evaluation of Underground Experiments with 3d Numerical Models
Original language description
The rock heating test in Josef gallery (underground laboratory managed by Czech Technical University) is a part of the project to study conditions for a technology for the energy storage in rock and the influence of the cyclic thermal loading to the rockproperties. The experiment is aimed to capture complex processes of heat transport, stress and deformation, and groundwater flow, using a variety of sensors with data recording. The coupled thermal-stress model, developed in COMSOL software and combining the unsteady heat conduction and the linear elasticity, has been used for a comparison with measured data. Next, there are two main issues of the heat and water interaction in the test: a contribution of water to the heat transport by the advection anda change of hydraulic properties by the thermal expansion stresses.
