Comparison of Results of Long-time Creep Test and ACT of Dissimilar Weld Joint of Steel P22 and P91

  • Original language description

Recently developed simulative accelerated creep test (ACT) on Gleeble thermal-mechanical simulator allows in a relatively short time (less than 100 hours) microstructural transformation of creep-resisting materials to the state, resembling that of multiyear application at creep conditions. This contribution deals with comparison of the conventional creep test (CCT) with the ACTof dissimilar weld joint. Creep tests to the rupture of the weld joint made of 9Cr-1Mo and 2.25Cr-1Mo ferrite base metals, 2.25Cr-1Mo steel weld metal were carried out at temperatures ranging from 525°C to 625°C in the stress range from 40 to 220 MPa. Creep rupture strength was evaluated using Larson-Miller parameter. Evolution of microstructure, changes of precipitates and dislocation substructure were correlated with the creep strength. Critical zones of creep damage were determined. At lower temperatures and higher stresses the weld joint ruptured in the base material of P22 steel unaffected by welding, while
