    An Alternative Method for Residual Stress Measurement in Railway Axles

    Residual stresses in railway axles should be measured according specified procedures, given in standard EN 13261. The goal of this article is to document, that groove grinding method is very suitable and sensitive for such type of measurement. The stress measurement in part of the axle was performed using groove grinding and saw cut methods and obtained results are compared and discussed.
